Time for 'Couples Cocktails' with noted mixologist Anthony Caporale
MYSTIC — The couple that plays together stays together, says Anthony Caporale of Mystic — as do kissing couples.
With that in mind, Anthony Caporale, the noted mixologist and Director of Spirits Education at New York’s Institue of Culinary Education, said he’s planned a totally fun way for couples to play together this Valentine’s Day and share a few smooches as well. Even more fun than making drinks for two, said the award-winning mixologist might be making drinks that are “enhanced by a kiss.”
Caporale — who led the popular “Cin Cin: An Exploration of the Classic Italian Cocktail,” program last year in partnership with the Dante Society of Westerly during the The United Theatre’s SoupyFest series of events — has designed a one-evening class called “Valentine’s Day Cocktails,” which, at last check, had a few spots left.
“If you want to master how to remove something from a drink, master how to use it first,” Caporale says. “You’ve got to understand cocktail chemistry before you can successfully remove the alcohol and make mocktails.”
