Craft Mixology: Backyard and Barbecue Drinks
Sunday, May 26th, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
You’ve mastered the grill, now it’s time to tame the mixing tin! World-renowned mixology author and educator Anthony Caporale has put together a selection of cocktails tailor made for outdoor enjoyment! Learn the correct way to make a classic Mint Julep, use grilled thyme in a Limoncello Martini, and take some shrimp off the barbie to add to your Seafood Bloody Mary! A selection of unique spirits will be provided by Spencer & Lynn Wine and Spirit Merchants of downtown Mystic. Whether you plan to be a pitmaster or a sit master, these drinks will make your backyard feel like a world-class resort!
A Martini Masterclass
Friday, June 14th, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Everyone knows James Bond preferred his martinis shaken, not stirred, but do you know why? How did this secret-agents tipple evolve into today’s ubiquitous Espresso Martini? The history of the Martini is as intricate as a spy movie plot, but few are familiar with how the most famous drink in the world came to be. Join Mystic’s own Anthony Caporale, author and producer of “The Imbible” series of hit New York musicals about the history of cocktails and spirits. We will learn how to make a Martini that would have made 007 give up his license to kill. Then we will jump into classic variations like the Manhattan, and of course we’ll perfect that Espresso Martini. A selection of Unique spirits will be provided by Spencer and Lynn Wine and Spirit Merchants of downtown Mystic.

Join Mystic’s own Anthony Caporale, author of The Imbible series of hit Off-Broadway musicals about the history of cocktails and spirits, for a guided tour through the wonderful world of whiskey! You’ll learn the correct way to taste and evaluate different styles, sample whiskies from across the globe, and learn the fascinating history and science behind their production. If you’ve already taken our World of Whiskey class, this is the ideal next step to apply what you learned. Boat Drinks: A Celebration of Summer Cocktails

We’ll start with a Hemingway Daiquiri, then move on to a hand-shaken Pina Colada before wrapping up with a strawberry Mojito that will have you searching for the nearest beach!
